1. LAW OF ATTRACTION

“thoughts manifest reality”

everyone knows this one, as best popularised by the best-seller “The Secret” Yes, the law of attraction is at work, and yes, it is under your control. The Outside World is just a manifestation, an interpretation of your inner world. See fear? then everyone will become scary. See love? then loving kindness and friendship will follow you around. You create the attitude, the atmosphere, and others of like mind resonate to this. All begins with a thought.

2. LAW OF ENERGY

“attention directs energy”

where you choose to focus your mind, there the universal energies will go. Like a LASER BEAM, your attention directs and creates, scanning constantly. Your attention is what you use to create. It is always in your hands. Even in times of pain or distress, your attention can be directed to the physical, or it be be turned elsewhere (witness hypnosis). Attention is Everything. Attention directs the energetic flow.

3. LAW OF POWER

“all power originates within”

there is only one creator in your life, and that is you. You are the creative force, the genesis of all events. This creative might is under your control; it directs the harsh circumstances you encounter (for your own personal growth) as well as the riches and ease which can be yours too. The power is WITHIN. Everyone has it, everyone can tap into it. All power, all within. Acknowledge this inner strength.

4. LAW OF FREEDOM

“there are no limits”

once we acknowledge the ‘Inner Power’, then we realise there are NO LIMITS. Beyond time, beyond space, we can draw upon infinite energies. Truly there are no limits, except those that we place upon ourselves. Is there any limit to success, to the creativity of a Beethoven? any limits to the wonder of technology and the bounties of the internet? Truly we have succeeded the wildest dreams of any science fiction writer of the 1960′s. Indeed, there are NO LIMITS.

5. LAW OF NOW

“now is the only time you can do anything”

the past is gone, the future is yet to be created. NOW is the only time. Be here, taste it, feel it, don’t run away from it. Don’t deny it, don’t distract yourself. Be in the present. The more you are grounded and ‘here’ the greater your potential for action and change. Live it … and act.

6. LAW OF LOVE

“love is happiness”

this is simple: love is happiness. Not jealousy, not anxiety, not about worries or concerns. If you truly love, you are happy with it. As it is. Flaws and all. Love is joy. Love is happiness. If there are any other emotions, then it is NOT Love. For LOVE IS HAPPINESS. Simple.

7. LAW OF TRUTH

“effectiveness is the measure of truth”

the true measure of anything is if it WORKS. If it doesn’t work, it’s a Lie. Truth ALWAYS WORKS. Its the best test of anything, including the Huna Principles. Test things, try things … whatever works, that is the truth. Whatever doesn’t, just discard it and move on. Everyone has their own truth, which works for their current life situation.

10 Ways LOVE = Happiness

there are many kinds of love, but how many exactly?

here I examine a few forms of ‘LOVE’, and how thy equate to happiness.

1. love of wife & husband = happiness

yes, the primal bond, that between man and woman, defined as marriage in our society. A long, life-term bond, which in the best case scenario, runs up to 4+ decades. This long term LOVE, provides security, stability, an inner knowing that your mate is there, providing support. One goes through the vicissitudes of family, work, birth & death, ageing, and happy learning. This long term wife / husband bond is truly magic. LOVE = HAPPINESS.

2. love of family & family

there’s nothing like putting up with an annoying brother or sister, or with a kooky, strange aunt or uncle. Familial bonds engender a certain tolerance, a long dogged patience, an over-biding acceptance of quirks and even outright eccentricity. Your family bonds are unique in this way … never to be duplicated, or even replicated. You know your family members, all their inner workings and dealings, their histories ..a special bond in familiarity. And we love the familiar! LOVE = HAPPINESS.

3. love of friend & friend

some friendships are short lived, but intense, others build up over the years. Some college buddies may call out of the blue, and a whole history and memory is resurrected in an Epic Drinking Session. Buddies. Pals. Friends. Heroes to each other, as the song goes. Friendships are wondrous – this is the mark of peer to peer – between equals, who choose to associate and share their life stories. Your friends (the really good ones) lead to much joy. LOVE = HAPPINESS again.

4. love of person & passion

if you find what you want to do in life, you will be happy. Simple. Said. Your CALLING is fulfillment. Easy. Abundance. You connect with your Passion … and you will be happy. Guaranteed. Again, LOVE = HAPPINESS.

5. love of person & world

if you look out each morning and see a scary world, you WILL be scared. If you look out and see your fellow brothers and sisters, all making their way as best they can, stumbling, trying, then you feel an inner bond with their struggles and dramas. If you can truly embrace the world, accept it as a fellow playground of spirits, then you will Never Feel Out Of Place. It will be a shared experience … to the very end. If you can come to accept and love the world … you will be happy. LOVE = HAPPINESS to repeat the mantra of today

6. LOVE … for itself

feel the inner harmony and balance of love … with no other reference point than yourself … and you will be happy. It will spring from your eyes, bound in your steps, empower your words … it won’t be containable! an infectious, viral JOY! a smile from ear to ear Joy in itself. Love by itself. LOVE = HAPPINESS all on its lonesome

7. LOVE …. and forgiveness

you know, the act of forgiveness is more about YOU than the other Person. How so? if you refuse to Forgive, then you are going the opposite way, YOU ARE HOLDING A GRUDGE. If you hold a Grudge (whether it be hate, dislike, aversion, or just recalling the injustice done to you) you harbor these negative feelings inside yourself. You are poisoning yourself by not Forgiving. It ends up damaging you more than them. You must forgive, love, and move on. By forgiving, and showing a truly Forbearing Love, you will be whole again, regardless of the wrong done to you. Forgive, and be happy in the present. LOVE = HAPPINESS.

8. Love … and divinity

this is a touchy one. I’m not quite sure how to express it. But if you can recognise the intrinsic divinity in all things (maybe animism?) then the Love will swell in your Heart. If all things are one … then All Things Are One. Hard to get your head around! but yes, I believe this eternal, infinite love … will bring you to the bounteous fountain of Joy. LOVE = HAPPINESS if you can wrap your head around it!

9. love, you know, the sexual kind.

I won’t need to say much here, or do much convincing. Love … as in the sexual, act of congress kind …will make you happy, no doubt. The brain chemicals do it. Love = happiness here for sure. If only for a short while

10. Love … because there’s nothing else to do!

seriously, what else are we here for? to making faster, more streamlined cars? to catch the latest episode of 24? these things are fine, but what is deeper meaning behind life? Surely to love, live, and learn? LOVE … because I can’t think of anything better to do!!

in short, bring Love into your life, in all its myriad senses and guises, and I’m pretty sure you’ll increase your Happiness Quotient (measured in smiles / hour).

Twelve Star Signs & Their Biggest Hurdles

1. ARIES

– ego

aries constantly faces the hurdle of the ‘me, me, me’ universe. This is the paradigm in which they exist. They must constantly defend their turf. be on the lookout for invaders. They are bold, daring, and even dangerous, but this is Aries’ greatest pitfall; not seeing beyond themselves.

2. TAURUS

– not growing up

it has been said that the Taurus Star Sign is somewhere stuck in the 7-14 age bracket. They are clever, nifty in terms of physicality, but have trouble seeing beyond a material world. Taurus can be intellectual and probing, but are often limited by a literal interpretation of things. The Bull has problems growing up.

3. GEMINI

– the allure of words

gemini’s love to talk, interact, communicate. This is what they are born to do. They are the facilitators, the talking heads, the best friend who talks to you at any time of Night; they love words & language! but this universe in which they dwell, full of language and linguistics only goes so far. Some things, after all, are ineffable. There is a magic beyond words

4. CANCER

– creature comforts

cancer builds his shell, full of the comforts and allure of home. Its safe. Its snug. Its cozy. Its reliable, safe, and full of family. Its a truly loving environment. But creating this divide – my space here, yours there – cements the notion of THIS, and THE OTHER. Everyone insider the circle is my friend, everyone outside is a stranger. This division is an arbitrary one, for in the end, ALL IS ONE.

5. LEO

– constant attainments

leo seeks to shine and be recognised for the greatness. Nothing better than praise and recognition. After all, this is how Great they are. But there comes a time when one has achieved enough, succeeded enough, and the Constant Striving becomes a false call, and the rewards are no longer satisfying. At that stage, one can become the Inner Mystic. For Leos, this is a hurdle large indeed.

6. VIRGO

– constant judging

virgos are the master technicians of the Star Signs. They can diagnose, manipulate, control, and perfect almost any practice you can conceive of. They are discerning, they are factual, they are real perceiving. But the material world is only one aspect of existence. There are places that are not so susceptible to this ‘fact-based’ approach. And there, judgement and criticism is actually a negative. One needs suspend judgement at times.

7. LIBRA

– ???

I know almost nothing about Librans. I pass.

8. SCORPIO

– integrating the underworld

Scorpios are masters of power and darkness; they go where others fear to tread. Dark imaginings, negative emotions, control. This is their domain. Theirs is the world of SHADOW. This aspect of our psyches is an omni-present one, but one that most of us choose not to deal with. Not the Scorpio. They live in this place of imaginals. Bravo to them. But integrating this Shadow with the world of Sunlight and Day can be difficult for them. It is their particular hurdle.

9. SAGITTARIUS

– sticking with things

Saggitarians are so brilliant, versatile, and adaptable they end up sabotaging themselves. There are so many avenues they can pursue, so many causes they can take up, so many banners they can fly, that they end up scattering their energies to the wind. Finding something, sticking to it, totally committing to the end; this is tough for Saggitarius to do.

10. CAPRICORN

– rigidity

so we come to my Sign Capricorns love to work systems, put things in easy boxes. Probably why I came to write this article. But the world is never as simple or straightforward as the Capricorn would like it to be. They like clear definitions, clear delineations, but in the end things are fuzzy and blended. Capricorns need to loosen up, and learn to travel where the flow takes them.

11. AQUARIUS

– too much intellect

Aquarians are the geniuses of the Star Signs. They do things that leave the rest of us with gaping mouths. Bold leaps, quick deductions. They truly are the Wunderkind. But this brilliance often deludes them into thinking they always have the truth; I mean, they get so many other things right, they must get everything right, right? Not always so. The truth can be elusive; and the intellect may not be enough to grasp it.

12. PISCES

– not being hard-assed enough

Pisces have a reputation for being push-overs and being wishy-washy. Like someone who is too meek, and doesn’t want to impose themselves. The Fish Sign has many admirable qualities (embracing, humanitarian, compassionate) but expressing themselves to a wider world can be difficult for them. They are all too willing to let others take charge, direct the show. But sometimes, you know, the Fish has to stand up for itself

21 Hidden Secrets of the Illuminati

to celebrate Angels and Demons (dan brown’s latest film), I play a little devil’s advocate here. After all, the Illuminati CONTROL EVERYTHING, don’t they?

1. they control the media. yep, cnn, bbc, fox news, printed pages. Everything

2. they control banking. yep, and deliberately crashed their own financial system. Out of the chaos, a new world order.

3. they control medicine. with pharmaceuticals they pollute and corrupt your body. They already own your mind.

4. they control politicians. Both sides of the political game; both left and right, liberal and conservative. in every country

5. they control lawmakers / judges – everyone has had their youthful indiscretions. Sometimes blackmail / sexual incidents are deliberately set up. Everyone is under their thumb.

6. they control technology. ever since Roswell, we have been on a technological ascent. With harvested alien / ufo technology (back-engineered) we have reached our current technological peak. Companies such as GE were beneficiaries of seeded research.

7. they control weather – using HAARP technology they can cause / manipulate the seasons & hurricanes. Think Katrina.

8. they control frequencies. it has been said that mobile phone frequencies attune with the human mind, and distort / corrupt it. Deliberate?

9. the control food – using GM technologies, our food is being degraded of precious life. In the pursuit of ever bigger harvests, we end up with emptier foods.

10. they control life – a birth certificate says you have been born, a death certificate marks your passage from this physical world. Without this ‘official’ stamp, it hasn’t ‘happened’.

11. they control religion. Christianity is the biggest faith on the planet, and the biggest of the big, is the Vatican. The Pope (apparently) is an Illuminati agent.

12. they control knowledge – universities are the gatekeepers of cutting edge research. Using carefully directed funds & research grants, knowledge is steered in a certain direction.

13. they control the military – the whole army industrial complex or weaponised might is powered by Black Ops projects. Underground bases.

14. they control the drug trade – the borders are safe, what gets through is totally permitted. the cia is in on drug running, and even organises the whole racket.

15. they control education. you can only make correct decisions with correct information. Education sees to it that you receive the wrong / irrelevant data.

16. they control the counter-movement: think the 60′s was all about rebellion? it was co-opted. Think Alex Jones tells the truth? where does he get funded?

17. they control space – all the images we get from nasa … have been airbrushed and tampered with. Bases on the moon, ruins on mars.

18. they control celebrities – Britney Spears and Anna Nicole Smith? mind controlled sex slaves.

19. they control the future – everything has been building up to 2012. Wait to see the big event! A cosmic slideshow!

20. they control … YOU!

21. THEY CONTROL EVERYTHING!!!!

11. witnessing the creativity of others on a daily basis

12. having a sweater when its cold

13. having electricity that is reliable (no brownouts, few blackouts)

14. having water that is clean and on tap

15. being able to shop for groceries almost any time of day

16. seeing the trees shake in the autumn wind

17. knowing my best friend is living in the same world as me

18. having had a long education, and the opportunity to give back now

19. having the peace of meditation

20. hearing the voices of disembodied podcasts

21. seeing the wonders of the animal kingdom

22. coining new language and phrases, day by day

23. laughing and smiling at the humor and art of others

24. sharing a lovely conversation with a sympathetic friend

25. asking others for assistance, and receiving a quick response

26. feeling the joy of a full belly

27. waking up from a long, dream-filled sleep

28. knowing there are answers … out there … somewhere

29. sharing this space with you ALL

The Five Traits of a Successful Writer

writing is much more than stringing together sentences of words. This is maybe what it looks like, but there is Magic and Mystery which truly empowers Great Writing. I believe the following are the 5 Traits that define a Great Writer:

1. Mastery of Language

this is first and foremost, and the most obvious Trait. Yes, the writer works with words; but what do words represent? fundamentally, words are IDEAS. They have a sound, a spelling, but deep deep down, each single word in our vocabulary is a Concept / Notion. An Idea in other words. Writers work with these concepts; spin them out into narratives, pile them together into a poetical mix. Think Shakespeare or Milton, and you think of Mastery of Language.

how to develop?

- study etymology – that is, the ‘roots’ of words. For english, this is heavily influenced by Latin and Greek, with a load of German and French.

- read poetry – truly learn how to say a lot with very little. Helps develop rhythm and pace in writing, plus the use of metaphor.

- study the writing of editors – many book / newspaper editors don’t often get a chance to write. They use their skills to help craft the work of others. But when these editors find a project to commit to, the resulting work can be a Masterpiece in Craftsmanship. Well worth studying the books that these people write.

2. Mastery of Psychology

great writers have an uncanny ability to dive in here and there into the human mind. They know what we are REALLY thinking. And then use this understanding to craft situations and storylines that are ulra-credible and realistic. Think Arthur Conan Doyle (author of Sherlock Holmes) and the unfolding of his gripping detective stories. Characters responding in this way or that, depending on situation and access to different levels of knowledge. AC Doyle understood the human mind.

how to develop?

pop psychology – sounds corny, but works. There are plenty of authors who speak to a mass audience (Stephen Pinker, Malcolm Gladwell for eg). Easy books to read, but hugely profound insights into the human mind.

analyse yourself – watch the turns and tricks of your own mind. Keep a diary, track your emotions and rages. Through self-observation you come to understand others.

3. Mastery of Philosophy

this seems like a strange one, but I will make the case. By Mastery of Philosophy, I mean that each Great Writer has a particular WorldView. This is their PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY; their own particular understanding of the world, one that has been examined and fully developed. They have asked the questions, and come up with their own answers. It is their Personal Vision.

once a writer has this, they can then convey it to their audience. Whether its James Joyce painting his portrait of depressing Ireland, or Henry James portraying his ‘golden age’ america, each of these writers has a distinctive outlook. It is their Philosophy.

how to develop?

study religion / spirituality – here you will confront the big questions in life. It’s not the answers that are important, but the Responses that the Questions evoke in YOU. Why do you think this? or that? or believe in science? or the creator? how did you arrive to such conclusions? what are the lines of reasoning in your arguments? challenge yourself

examine world events – how do you explain and understand the big events in the world? the wars, the international feuding, the business plundering. Do you have a coherent framework in which to place such happenings? one that you are satisfied with? more big questions which will develop your personal philosophy no end.

4. Mastery of Narrative

so we’ve given our writer his words (Mastery of Language), an understanding of human nature (Mastery of Psychology) and a particular worldview (Mastery of Philosophy). What next? well, then the writer has to tell HIS/HER STORY. This is the Narrative. Its no good having information and knowledge if you can’t convey it to others. Teaching is almost the flip side of Learning. Once you have learnt, you almost have the responsibility to pass this on. This is the narrative, a well spun story.

how to develop?

study Jane Austen – all her novels are well developed. They have a distinct beginning, middle, and end. Study this flow of development.

study films – not the film scripts, but go watch movies! those that work well have the same beginning, middle and end of the Jane Austen novel. Introduce characters, show them mixing, then demonstrate the outcome. Narrative.

5. Mastery of Opportunity

all creative artists need a bit of the entrepreneurial streak, and yes, the Successful Writer too. They need an eye and ear for Opportunity and Chance. A short story here, a book review there, a breakthrough magazine article, whatever, the writer is constantly seeking to raise their profile. From obscurity to fame is the story of Opportunities Taken.

know Charles Bukowski? here’s the story of a 20th Century gritty boozing writer and poet. He kept plugging away until he found his Savior Patron. Persistence.

so you can see that Great Writers aren’t just people who put together words in pretty ways. They are people are pick apart and put together THE WORLD. They have this internal vision, and they convey this to you in a –

1) beautiful, enchanting, effective way (Mastery of Language)

2) convincing, authentic, credible way (Mastery of Psychology

3) meaningful, enlightening, escapist way (Mastery of Philosophy)

4) developed, engrossing, page turning way (Mastery of Narrative)

5) timely, relevant, immediate way (Mastery of Opportunity).

so you can see that Great Writers are also pretty good human beings. They have fascinating life histories, and there is nothing more thrilling for me than diving into a well-written Literary Biography. Writers are amazing!

Step 38 – Abundance

abundance is a mindset, a certain frequency you can tune into.

for example, look at those that are rich and successful; even if they lose their fortunes, or undergo a business collapse, they get straight back into the game, into the hunt. Being down and out is NOT PART OF THEIR THINKING.

those that accept defeat, their current situation in life, they DO NOT HAVE this Success Mindset.

this can be changed. this can be learnt. Abundance is an attitude, one that can be shifted at will.

We learn from those that are more successful, more skilled than us.

“fake it to you make it” is a coming saying. Especially for those starting a new, difficult profession.

Adopt the mindset – “I am the prosperity, I am the Abundance” – and your life actions will begin to match your mental state. And in time (sometimes quick time!) the Abundance will come flowing in.

and Abundance is not necessarily in Material Riches. Abundance is in happiness, joy, fulfillment, skilled abilities, emotional balance, familial reconciliation. Abundance is a FULLNESS IN LIFE; a total satisfaction.

Abundance. It can be ours. Just shift your thinking

Seven Powerful Ways to Develop Your Spirituality

everyone wants to become a spiritual master these days. But how to do it?

1. meditation

pure and simple, do the hard work. look inside, still the mind, observe pure consciousness. Meditation is the truth path to the inner authentic self. Some discover god, some their inner buddha, some just their plain old spirit nature. But in all cases, there is a REVELATION, of the inner kind. It is deep, honest, and truthful reflection. Meditate your way to bliss!

2. study the masters

there are those that have gone before; learn from them. No need to become a disciple, or temple monk; just look at their writings online. Genuine spiritual wisdom is always passed along freely; no charge SIR! This is knowledge for all ages, all men, all women. True spiritual masters put themselves out there, knowing full well the truth will overcome. Learn from them!

3. Size down, go part time

one of the truly magnetic drains on the human soul is WORK. But it’s unavoidable. We all need to earn our living, provide for a family, so on the work chains go. Find work that is congenial, or that is not too stressful. Find work that is Compatible. But above all, don’t become a slave to your job and the money that comes with it. Size down, reduce expenses, go part time even!

4. mantras, affirmations

all our waking day we may be assaulted and barraged and sniped at by worries and concerns. Sometimes its an emotional stress, sometimes financial, but it all takes alway from our mental strength. Using mantras – om om om – or powerful affirmations – I am true, I am he – can help concentrate and refocus the mind and attention.

5. use music of the ages

there is always a music section in new age bookshops. Celtic flutes, buddhist chants, nature music – all these genres will be represented. This is powerful spiritual music to awaken the Inner Soul. Use wisely, and watch how much you spend! it can get pricey

6. find podcasts of the now

there are Others out there, also seeking. They are on the web, making public their own Spiritual Journeys. seek them out, and compare notes with them. They are fellow Travellers. Some write blogs, others do podcasts, and others still try to work with the visual form in Art and Video. They are out there … just take the time and find them!

sometimes you can learn a lot more from your peers, than those Masters that are too far above you. Your peers speak your language, live in the here and now, and struggle with the EXACT SAME issues that you do. Befriend them. They will be glad for the company!!

7. Trust Yourself

above all, on the spiritual path, back yourself. Have inner faith in your own powers, abilities, and self-worth; don’t hand over your sovereign identity to anyone else; you are Better Than That. Develop your own core; awaken the spiritual power WITHIN. In short, just Trust Yourself.

7 Ways New Media is Destroying Old Media

we are witnessing the overturning of a media system that has been in place for 100 years now. By old media, I mean -

- film

- tv

- radio

- books

- newspapers

here are 7 reasons why these industries are being blown up day by day:

1. speed

first and foremost, the internet is about speed. A page load in under a second, a tweet that goes from end to end around the planet in a single send click. Speed is the name of the game. If media is all about information, then relevancy and timeliness are key. New Media is Now Media -

– blogs: type up your blog entry, hit ‘publish’ and you’re on the web.

2. zero cost

all these Old Media models have some business model where you pay up front. Even for things like tv and radio, you have paid subscription models. You want, you hand over the Cash. Well, the internet blows this up. It gives you all the content … and its FREE. Zero cost. It might be ad-supported or whatever, but in almost any case you can think of, the information and Content is there online … just a link or search away. New Media beats Old Media here because it is inherently more democratic – everyone has access to it regardless of income.

prime example: music industry. startup and independent bands GIVE AWAY their music online, and make their living by promoting their tours, selling merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, etc). Music can also be done as a passionate hobby; rather than as a fullon profession. With little drop in quality with today’s digital tools.

3. bypass censorship and control

old media is notorious for its ‘Gatekeepers’. Wanted to have a book published? submit to editor, and get his expert thumbs up or thumbs down. Writing a letter to a newspaper? wait and see if your opinion is ‘suitable’ to be published. Want to get on the radio for an interview? apply, and grovel. The Gatekeepers kept YOU out, because they wanted control and total domination of their respective media. New Media says a big F*ck You to this. I’ll say what I want, however I want, and let the audience / readership decide if its worthy. New Media is all about the people; not the Corporations and Politicians like it used to be in the bad old days.

example? youtube. anything goes. what gets popular is what gets popular; not decided by the size of your ad budget.

4. relevancy

today’s world is all about targeted information. With Old Media you often had a conglomeration of Information, in the hope of appealing to the widest possible audience (think of a tv channel, with its various programming throughout the day, trying to ‘target’ the viewers; or newspapers with their various sections – news, business, sports, entertainment – trying to deliver a load of daily information). New media is not interested in this broad, shotgun approach. As I mentioned before, the smallest single unit of New Media is a web page … and that can be highly targeted and relevant. Google here delivers the dose to the reader / viewer / listener.

5. feedback

New Media is almost defined by the ‘User Comment’. whether its on Amazon, imdb, or Facebook timeline, the user gets to have their say, if they feel strongly enough. This completes the feedback loop; the creator of the content puts their ‘stuff’ out there, and then the reactions can come back to him. New Media is a two-way inter-active process. Old Media (books, film, tv) doesn’t have this component at all. Feedback means that you are INVOLVED.

best example: amazon.com. there are many reasons for Amazon’s early and continued success, but the user reviews are one of them.

6. so-called ‘Cloud’ Content

new media is all digital. that is, it doesn’t have a physical component. It can’t be lost, dropped, broken, or smudged. BIG ADVANTAGE over physical media formats which must be packaged, shipped, taken care of, stored in your house, and alphabetically ordered (if you were like me, that is ). New Media is there … living on the web … and while url’s can change, if you feel strongly about a web page or audio file or video segment, you can save to your hard disk in a flash. But primarily, the content is ‘out there’ living on the web, in the Cloud, the distributed system we know as the interwebs.

my favorite examples: Google Books. a library of books and more books just a search bar away. While a lot of the content has been restricted by the publishers, there is still an amazing wealth of glorious finds out there. Google Maps. enough said.

7. the Singularity

as a consequence of the above (that New Media is ALL DIGITAL) … that means that everything is accessible from your computer screen. You have your big 22 inch screen, nice side speakers, mouse + keyboard … the the whole interwebs is at your fingertips. All the aforementioned media formats (film, tv, radio, books, newspapers) have been subjugated and integrated into the vast beast of the Internet. This so called ‘New Media’ is a summation, but also expansion of everything that has come before. In some circles this may be termed the Singularity. And in this case specifically, the Singularity of Information; a total Black Whole … increased, condensed, spiraling, and abundant information … interlinked, bound, and constantly cross-referenced. This is the most exciting part of New Media; that it BRINGS TOGETHER that which has been disparate before. it Reconnects.

information. people. the world. Re-united in one New Media.
